GNI is celebrating!

It is a long time since our humble beginnings back in 2006, but today we are proud what we have achieved so far. There were ups and downs all along the way, our member base grew steady and so did the invested funds. For a lot of you, who stayed with us for a while now, GNI has become a stable and reliable source for a passive second income. On the occasion of our second birthday online we have received a remarkable amount of good wishes and felicitations from old and new members and we do like to express our sincere appreciation for your support!

Without you, our esteemed members, GNI would not be where and what we are today. Thank you all!

Now, let us celebrate our second birthday together and read on what Jurgen and I worked out for you to commemorate this event. It is a whole package of rewards and awards, to make sure that each and every member will be remunerated in one way or another:

1. Daily Variable with fixed payouts for the whole month of November: Participants in our Daily Variable plan will receive a constant 1.1% daily rate on each day during the month of November! (Please note that payouts are from Monday till Friday only.)

The addition of StrictPay as an additional deposit option is a further step to improve our services and another demand from our growing member base.

StrictPay offers similar services as SolidTrust Pay, means you can fund your account direct without the service of a third party exchanger and you are able to transfer your funds direct to StrictPays debit card or to your bank account. Please note that StrictPay deposits as well as SolidTrust Pay deposits have to be made manually for the moment. You will find further information in the members area if you wish to deposit with one of these fine payment processors. Automated SolidTrust Pay payments will be available in the next 7 - 10 days, while StrictPay deposits will remain manually until further notice.

As you might know, GNI - your Arbitrage Betting Pool - is accepting SolidTrust Pay (STP) and StrictPay (SP) since a couple of weeks. We are very pleased with the acceptance of these fine payment processors among our members and so far SolidTrust Pay has already become the second most utilized payment processor for our members after Liberty Reserve.

Since we have received a lot of support tickets concerning depositing with STP or SP. Please allow me a short description on how to deposit and withdraw with STP and SP, till our system is allowing automated deposits, which will reflect then immediately in your account balance.

To deposit with STP please spend direct, means from within the STP system, to our STP account. Our account name is: GNI

Please add your GNI username in the memo field of the STP or SP transfer, this helps us to verify your payment quicker.

This is a GNI news update for members who deposited into our project with V-Money!

It came to our attention that V-Money is not available for about two days. If one tried to connect to their url http://v-money.net the url is redirected to http://www.srsplus.com/cgi-bin/park.cgi?domain=v-money.net

On this site it is stated that, I quote, This site is under construction and coming soon.

There was no notification from the V-Money management concerning any issues with their site.

At this moment we are not aware if V-Money if following Altergold to the Hall of Shame - or if there is some maintenance going on.

If you have current V-Money withdrawal requests with us, please note that we are unable to process your withdrawal requests at this time.

Should V-Money not be back in a reasonable time, we will convert your deposit and account balance to any of the other payment processors accepted by GNI. We never keep large sums of funds with any payment processor, so compensation is not an issue.

We have decided to wait until Dec. 15, 2008 to see if V-Money will be back and after that date you may contact us with the account details of your payment processor of choice to convert your V-Money deposit and/or account balance.

please note that GNI was experiencing a heavy DDoS attack last night. The traffic was such, that the measures implemented were not able to deal with the load. As a result GNI was not accessible for our members.

Our hosting provider BlackLotus, who monitored the situation closely was able to mitigate problem within a few hours and our site is up again.

Please note that such useless and vicious attacks might make our site inaccessible for you - but will not harm our performance at all. Please always keep in mind that the site is only the link between you, our members and us, but not not needed to perform our betting activities.

We are approaching the end of 2008 and we would like to take this opportunity to reflect this passing year from GNIs point of view. Most of your are aware of the big changes, GNI was undertaking in 2008!

In May we opened our doors to new investors which was a big step for us, followed by a lot of discussions between Jurgen and I and the main question was, if this step would be beneficial for GNI in the long run. Now, after almost eight months of public operation, with currently more than 1500 members of which 1058 have active deposits with us and a current pool volume of close to $600,000, we can say without a doubt - yes it was!

We are glad to went the extra mile, despite all the work involved and we will continue to do so in 2009!

Let us please express a BIG THANK YOU to all of you, our members, active or passive, who helped us to develop our project to the stage were we are now! In 2009 we will go a step ahead again to secure that GNI will always be your preferred and reliable second income opportunity.  We will go another extra mile at the beginning of 2009, so please look out for exciting news awaiting you in January.

I also like to take the opportunity of this last newsletter of 2008, to remind you about our current promotions, in case you have missed it:

3. Something good to say about GNI? Send us in your testimonials and we will publish them on our testimonial page, which will be soon added to our website. The three best testimonials will be rewarded, with $300 for the 1st prize, $200 for the 2nd prize and $100 for the 3rd prize. It has been more than a month, since my last newsletter to all of you.

I hope you have enjoyed the holidays and despite the grim worldwide economic situation look forward to a prosperous and happy good year 2009!

We here at GNI are doing well - I was a bit exhausted during the last couple of weeks while Jurgen was on vacation with his family, but now he is back and things are a bit more relaxed for me. A lot of requests and suggestions I was forced to put aside during this time and I thank you all for your understanding and patience.

There are a lot of exiting new features and options around GNI to be announced soon but for today I do like to inform you only about a very recent issue:

Our script will be upgraded later today and this is a long overdue, major upgrade! Apart from some glitches concerning our Daily Variable program, where payments where not posted automatically and we had to adjust some of our members accounts on a daily basis, which should be fixed after the upgrade, other features include automated SolidTrust Pay and Perfect Money payments. Automated StrictPay payments will follow with the next minor update in February.

Due to this upgrade we have not paid todays returns for our Daily Variable program yet, although the results are calculated and we will pay 1.10% for today. Please expect your daily returns for Friday, Jan. 23rd. by tomorrow morning GMT time. Sorry for any inconvenience, but we have to check if the script is working properly after the upgrade.

According to Mike, the script developer, there will be just about half an hour of downtime to be expected, while Mike is installing the upgrade. So please do not panic if you cannot access our site in a couple of hours time - just try again later.

And the big news I have mentioned before?

They will be announced in our newsletter during next week! Sorry folks, but first we have to upgrade our system

GNI News Update Jan. 27, 2009

I hope you are doing well!

You might have noticed that our script update was installed recently. It was a long overdue measure with new security features, some can be seen, like the virtual keyboard to enter your password when logging in or signing up, others are for the general safety of our project and are hidden in the core of the script. Other features worth to mention are that SolidTrust Pay and Perfect Money payments are processed automatically now, which is saving us a lot of time. By the way, I just had a chat with Mike, our script developer. We have tested automated StrictPay payments over the weekend and will implement this feature by next week.

Ok, now to the unpleasant experiences with our upgraded script:

Unfortunately not everything worked out as smoothly as we all anticipated and I will brief you today on the glitches we have encountered and will explain in detail what we are currently doing to make our project ready for the future.

The earnings for our Daily Variable plan which sometimes timed out with the old script due to server overload, leaving us with about a hundred or so transactions to be made manually daily is still not working fine. Mike is while I am writing this lines to you checking things and hopefully we have a solution within a few hours or so.

We have noticed that many earnings for the Weekly Fixed plan were not posted after the upgrade was installed. While this was a big surprise not only for us, but for the script developer as well, we looked into this failure yesterday and found out that our server is still running a SQL 4.1 database, which is not only ancient (in software terms) but also have well known security issues. Since we also planned to upgrade our server in the next couple of weeks, due to heavy load - our average Alexa ranking is around 60.000, some days even in the 'twenties'. So I have contacted BlackLotus today and ordered a state of the art managed and dedicated server which the right software preinstalled. Another important feature is that we upgraded the protection to Prolexic, the undisputed market leader for DDoS protection. The migration to this server should be done without 'foreseen' downtime during Friday, Jan. 30, according to BlackLotus.

To make a long story short, by the end of the week everything should be on track again and run smoother than ever before.

But what are we doing with the 'missing earnings' since the script will not be able to detect past due earnings. In this regard I have to admit we need your kind help and we will bring Arthur into play. Arthur is a retired accountant who was helping us out in the past and will take care of this issues as from tomorrow. So please check and if you missing earnings in the Weekly or the Daily plan let us know. We have arranged for a dedicated email address for this purpose only.

Please address your missing earning request via email to goldnuggetinvest@yahoo.com.

Please do not forget and this is very important, to include 1. your GNI username, 2. the deposited amount for which earnigns are missing, 3. the plan or plans you request your missing earnings for and 4. the date or date range where earnings should have been posted.

I give you an example how such an request should look:

If you have more than one request just continue...

Arthur will then go through your information and deposit the missing payments into your account balance from where you can withdraw or reinvest them.

Withdrawals have not been compromised by the current events and are processed as usual, daily between 9am and 5pm GMT. Just coming to my mind that some members asked me how they should now if we are still busy in the office or not, if it is the right time to post a withdrawal request etc. You can see our current business time in the bottom left corner of our homepage.

We know that it is an unusual approach to involve our members in this regard, but please always keep in mind that our main activity is to place surebets, currently about 150 a day, in order to offer you such returns and that is taking much of our time. On the other side, it is your money we are working with and nobody but you knows better when it is due. We do however apologize for the inconvenience this might cause!

Please allow us up to 48 hours to post your missing earnings and please do not send general support requests to this email address. We have received many support ticket during the last two days regarding payments which will be deleted, due to the solution we described above. If you have other queries and support requests please address them in the meantime to my email address goldnuggetinvest@gmail.com. This is my personal email account and I will follow up whenever I have time.

And if you don't have earnings to be due until Friday or Saturday morning, depending where on this planet you are living, you don't have to do anything. Every interest due after we are running SQL 5 will be made automated, as before.

Ok, now some general instructions which should be taken care of whenever a script upgrade was performed:

Please login to your GNI account and check the account information in the database, particularly your email address and the account numbers/names of your payment processors.

We also advise you to change your password. If you forget your password - it really happens, we got everyday support request concerning forgotten passwords - please click on the link on the login page and a new password will be delivered to your email account on record.

Our members using SolidTrust Pay and Perfect Money may now also enter their account name/number in their member profile. This will help us both, so please do not forget: If you do so, you don't have to enter your account information in the memo field of the withdrawal request and we can perform automated and therefore faster withdrawals.

Here I am again with a news update, as promised!

I just got notification from BlackLotus this morning that they are working on the installation for our new server and it will be online within the next 12 - 36 hours. I asked them yesterday about possible downtime and received following reply:

"Only caveat will still be the 24 hour time to expire a DNS entry. What we'll do is put up a temporary error message that visitors will see until their DNS expires with instructions on how to force their DNS to the new server if necessary."

So there should be no downtime - and if, it should be reasonable.

A lot of our members contacted me during the last two days regarding the posting of their earnings. Please note that Arthur is working on that issue all the time, but still have a backlog of about 300 requests and to be fair to all our members, we have to answer them in the order we received them.

I have convinced Arthur to come in on Sunday and I hope until Sunday evening we have answered most of your requests and applied the earnings manually.

However, once the server is installed the Weekly Fixed earnings will be posted automatic as before and the Daily Variable earnings will be posted on a daily base again as from Monday, Feb. 2nd.

One more thing, please address support requests for the moment to my personal email address at goldnuggetinvest@gmail.com. We have disabled the helpdesk today since it will be upgraded as well to the new eticket Help Desk software during next week.

GNI News Update Feb. 2, 2009

As promised a brief update on our server and script issues!

Our server upgrade was concluded by BlackLotus on Saturday early morning (GMT) and so far we are very satisfied with the response time and performance.

Since our script developer was on a business trip over the weekend, it took us until today to install the upgraded script on the server. Currently we are testing and tweaking, but all is looking good and we have processed the first automated payments to our members about an hour ago. Auto posting of earnings of the Weekly Fixed program will be working in a couple of hours time and from then on all current earnings should be posted automatically as before.

Now to the backlog:

Please note that Arthur has still a backlog of close to 400 requests now growing and is auditing each and every account. This is time consuming and we have accounts with multiple deposits and it can take take up to 20 minutes to check such accounts. Others with only one deposits are audited within 2 minutes. We have however to be fair, and work on this requests in the order we  received them. We are planning to have a second accountant working on the backlogs possibly by tomorrow, if not by Wednesday and are expecting to be up-to-date by the end of the week.

As you all know, good things take time!

Another important issue: Today it came to my attention that a sick soul is sending out so called phishing emails, pretending they have been sent out by us. So far I got only about 20 complaints about this issue. This email contains a link to a very primitive made Liberty Reserve login page, to verify account details etc. Please note that we will never sent out emails with any link to Liberty Reserve or any other site. Please never click on any links in such emails and please note that Liberty Reserve for example is always addressing you by your first name, if they are contacting you for any reason.

I also advised our esteemed members in one of my latest news updates to please change your password once the server and script upgrades are concluded. This is done now and if you have not changed your password yet, please do so!

Due to the fact that we were working 16 and sometimes more hours/daily over the last two weeks there was really no time to introduce our upcoming new features and other exciting news, as I have announced in our latest newsletter. Please allow us to settle and to finalize with the current affairs and after we will go on with those announcements.

It was a stressful time for our team during the last couple of weeks, to get our script and server settings right and we are glad to offer our members once again a flawless and safe environment to invest in.

There are a few exiting changes coming up, in the next few weeks and in this newsletter I will start to introduce a few of our new features.

As from today we will have so called rollover plans in place.

The purpose of this plans is to reinvest smaller amounts, without the requisite to accumulate them first in your account balance, before they can be invested in our Daily Variable or Weekly Fixed programs.

There are two such plans enabled now and I will explain to you how to use them:

Daily Variable Rollover

Please note that deposits in both plans can be cancelled at any time, means there is no lock-in period. This feature, although the interest is lower than in the main programs, allows you to optimize your investment strategy with us. You can reinvest earnings into those plans whenever you have funds available in your account balance. Once your original deposit(s) can be cancelled after the 30 days lock-in period you can do so, as well as with the reinvested deposits in the rollover plans and then reinvest the whole amount into the Weekly Fixed or Daily Variable once again. This will make your deposit overview more transparent and easier to handle and on the other side, you will earn some extra income on smaller amounts usually sitting in your account balance.

We introduce this plans on demand of many of our members.

A second feature requested by our members is regarding the referral commission. As from now on you will earn referral commission, if one in your downline is depositing back into our programs direct from the account balance. Until now only deposits made direct from the payment processors were eligible for referral commission.
